Rules

Abra Desktop uses rules to evaluate whether an app is accessible.

There are two ways of testing: automated and semi-automated.

Automated testing

Using Abra Desktop, you can automatically evaluate a total of 25 rules.

You can select the rules to use when scanning from the Abra Desktop Settings.

Automated Abra rules

  1. Portrait orientation
  2. Landscape orientation
  3. Target size (minimum)
  4. Target size (enhanced)

Automated Apple rules

  1. Contrast
  2. Dynamic type
  3. Element detection
  4. Hit region
  5. Sufficient element description
  6. Text clipped
  7. Trait

Automated Google rules

  1. Class name
  2. Clickable span
  3. Duplicate clickable bounds
  4. Duplicate speakable text
  5. Editable content description
  6. Image contrast
  7. Link purpose unclear
  8. Redundant description
  9. Speakable text present
  10. Text contrast
  11. Text size
  12. Touch target size
  13. Traversal order
  14. Unexposed text

Semi-automated testing

Using Abra Desktop, you can semi-automatically evaluate a total of 113 rules:
